It basically saves one of your (unused) mana and releases it in a future turn.
This way it can even serve as mana ramp.
Actually not such a bad mana curve fixer in my opinion.

If you have ways to feed it with Charge Counters otherwise, e.g. Energy Chamber, it can constantly serve as mana producer. Or some sort of Mox, for that matter.

On top of that, i considered using it in an Umbilicus deck, 0-mana artifacts are not a bad choice there anyways ;)

It's a miniature Ice Cauldron! But you don't have to invest the card beforehand, I suppose...

This is a very mediocre card. You can store 1 mana to use for use during a later turn. For example, store a counter on it during turn 1 and play a card for 3 CMC on turn 2 with a 2nd land. You can also use it in situations where you are short by 1 of a specific color mana. However, it doesn't offer that much of a benefit over just using an additional land instead.

Pair it with Coretapper as well.

Proliferate gives a lot of old cards a second life, doesn't it? I don't wanna be the guy going through here pointing out every card that works good with proliferate, but I haven't had my fill of the mechanic yet.

This one in particular is a great thing to proliferate, but it's also a good 0 cost artifact for affinity, storm or recursive loops with Inexorable Tide.

The card itself is pretty good.
However,
the text is way too small. :(
