Wow. This set has such insane cards, yet also creatures worse than Scathe Zombies and Instants worse than Healing Salve. Very contrastive if you ask me.

Because Healing Salve was over powered and game breaking.

A weaker Healing Salve? What's going on?

Slightly better than Mending Hands.

WORSE THAN HEALING SALVE AND MENDING HANDS? I'm shocked that such a pathetic card is even seeing print in a set with some of the most game breaking cards in magic...

Second worse card in the set. (I'm sure you can guess who the worst is -- what was Wizard's thinking with Lotus Cobra?)

Why does this card exist?! Is it that Healing Salve was SOOO broken and game changing that a more balanced version was needed?........... Maybe it will see limited play in drafts.

Zendikar seems to have very powerful cards, and extremely weak cards. This resides with the later. It's strictly worse than Healing Salve and Mending Hands, and damage prevention spells aren't even all that good to begin with.

Honestly, would anyone have really been happy if it was mending hands. With all of the other powerful white cards, why make a big deal about a card that looks balanced?

Wow! Lightning Bolt meet your match! (Finally something that can keep your Pillarfield Ox alive!)

come on people, healing salve and mending hands are not legal now, while this is, it isnt great, but it is anti lightning bolt which in a turbo fog deck, could get you your luminarch ascention up and running even against a burn deck

The probably printed this instead of Mending Hands because they didn't want kicked burst lightning to be answered for one W.

Good card within it's block. Don't understand why people don't like it much. OK, outside Zendikar, there are better cards, but still. Good card.

I pulled 7 of the freaking things. I could handle not putting them in decks, but when packs are stuffed with this crap, THEN we have a problem!

Why didn't they just reprint Pollen Remedy? It's the same kind of effect, in a land block, with Kicker.

Can this card completely block a Lightning Bolt, or does it target before Lightning Bolt targets?

It's an underrated card, but I still have to agree its bad. 2/5.

@xRockFan: The simple answer is yes, in that this can stop the damage a Lightning Bolt would deal. But it depends partly on what you mean by "blocking" it.
It doesn't counter the bolt, or stop the targeted creature or player from being targeted by it, or prevent it from having been cast. Any effects that look for any of those will react accordingly.

strictly worse than a lot of things, a lot of really crappy things. Yet strangely, i have actually found some neat uses for it in limited for some combat shinigans, though harms way is far better for that if you have them.

Finally, a replacement for that horridly overpowered Healing Salve!
