i think i't rather take a splash of black in my deck to get the desired effect.

I like False Defeat better, though you'd be limited to your own graveyard.

Does anyone else notice that the first phrase of the flavor text is totally taken from a Ray Bradbury short story? I'm going to guess that I'm the only one.

This is still playable, and it came out in 1995. So really, Spideredd? You are going to complain about it in relation to a card that came out in 2009?

White has had resurrection spells at uncommon since alpha, so this is basically adding a green to get it from any graveyard, which is frequently useful. If you are sure that it is going to come from your own graveyard, why not put in miraculous recovery to get it at instant speed with a gravy +1/+1 counter?

This is decent recursion for /. I think it might be useful for EDH.

@Zulp: That was totally the first thing I thought of when I saw the flavor text.

Edit: This card has been a great addition to my Saffi Eriksdotter EDH. My opponents have always been surprised by it, especially when I snag something from their graveyard.

@Zulp: "There Will Come Soft Rains" is a poem written by Sara Teasdale, published in 1920. The Bradbury story (published in 1950) was inspired by, and featured, the poem.

I can't believe I forgot about this card for a very long time. Great addition to my Ghave dredge/reanimator EDH.

@Zulp : I only noticed the Bradbury reference now myself after reading the card again. I glossed over this way back when since I hadn't read the story when I first saw this card.
