Wow! A card with Watership Down flavor text? Cool! I kind of wish they never got rid of the old literature references in flavor text.
The text is referring to a train, by the way.

Quite efficient for Legends! Nice art and flavor text too.

lightning19, this is on the Reserved List, so it can't be reprinted...Skyhunter Skirmisher is as close as we can get...

Guest...Pegasus Charger is pretty close to this guy...just less tribal interaction and an easier to play casting cost...and common.

I'm amazed this was in Legends, as I'd actually use it. Creatures in that set were crap.

It's a creature from Legends that's still competitively priced and entirely within its color's domain.
I just had a freaking heart attack.

I like the legends legendary creatures, but not anything else...
Except this card, which is basically almost a nighthawk equivalent.

@Robram89 Entirely within its color's domain, eh? Thunder doesn't seem like a 'red' subject at all? Though, I do know what you mean :P

Why is this reserved? It seems quite flavorful and balanced to me (except of the thunder stuff already mentioned)

This card being on the reserved list confuses me.
First of all, it wasn't very good to begin with...but more importantly, if it's reserved, why have like five nearly-exact copies been printed?
The only reason I can come up with is that it's red flavored.

I agree with ScissorsLizard, I really miss the days when cards contained quotes from outside the MTG universe : P If there are recent ones, I can't say I know about them.

The fact that this is on the reserved list makes me groan. a 2/2 first strike for 1WW is so basic a creature, the inability to reprint it is just plain dumb. It's not like Moat, with its unique and powerful ability. It's like, if R&D needs a somewhat efficient flying first-striker for a set, they can't make it! This shouldn't even be rare!

Thunder Spirit is a classic example of the Wizards getting it *just right*. Strong, fun card that isn't overpowered, but can compete with the best. Nice counterpart to Hypnotic Specter. Back in the day when this was printed, a lot of people actually considered this to be "too strong". No kidding. My opinion on this card is exactly what it was 19 years ago: this card is perfect, there is nothing I would change about it. Not the effect, the art, the flavortext. Nothing.
Screw the silly "Reserve list". Reprint it already.

It's stuff like this, not the rare expensive cards, that are the best argument against the reserve list. This would be a great core set reprint at common or uncommon, but the reserve list forbids them from doing even a functional reprint.
