This was once one of my best cards. I can't imagine a single deck I'd put it in now, pauper or peasant included. Life is now better since I have more than 150 cards to my name, although it does miss a certain charm.

Try Albino Troll. Same cost but you can leave the extra mana up to regenerate him.

Better yet, just get yourself a Spiritmonger.
