Arguably the best lands, barring Alpha/Beta dual lands like Taiga, are these puppies from Lorwyn/Shadowmoor. They are certainly worth the hefty price tags they usually carry.

These lands are good, but they can be cumbersome. If you have x3 of these in your starting hand, with no other lands, your early game is going to be in trouble. Unless you have a colorless mana curve.

@Thewallinator74: No, shock lands are much better. Shock lands (like Stomping Grounds) always have the option to enter untapped for a tiny cost. These can easily screw you over. Plus if you want to cast a one-mana instant on your opponent's turn, these will force you to keep another land untapped.

Nasferot2, you are missing the fact that this, essentially, is a dual land that can turn a basic land into another dual land for a small drawback. (The drawback is that this requires another land to make colored mana.)
