Got to give the guys down in the Creative Department two thumbs up for this one --the spirit of an old pervy woman trapped inside a tree holding a bowl of "warm brew."

I agree, creative dropped the ball on this one...art, concept, and flavor text is awesome, just not Lorwyn.

It's Shadowmoor.

@Champion Kitsune: Lorwyn was the classic, Disney fairy tale. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves- and the wicked witch with her tempting apple. It was Hansel and Gretel- with the witch in the gingerbread house. Every fairy tale has to have a villain- but they were never really SCARY villains. They may cackle and plot, but they're not really horrifying. Just some bad people. This Witch is the witch in the forest. The one with the gingerbread house. The one that will probably want to bake you into a pie, but can get outsmarted by children, no less.

Shadowmoor, conversely, was a Grimm brothers fairy tale. If you haven't heard of those, they were the original tales of Snow White, Cinerella, and so forth- before disney got a hold of them. These were considerably more... well, grim. They were dark and often violent. Often, the happy ending simply doesn't exist (See the original Little Mermaid). If this witch was in Shadowmoor, it wouldn't be implied that she wants to eats travellers. She'd be surrounded by bones.

@Gezus82 - (There are 81 more of you?) Well, treefolk aren't the ONLY tribe. There were Giants, but it's not like anyone used them. Or treefolk, really, outside of casual. Elves, merfolk, and boggarts (probably in that order) were just too good. Oh, and faries. I hear those were pretty good too.

Anyway, let's say you're running green/black/white Doran treefolk (since that's really the best option here). Your forray into black gives you some much more repeatable and reliable removal, stuff that can sneak past your high-toughness gentlemen. Infest turns one-sided against nearly every other tribe in Lorwyn. Nameless Inversion is this minus the legs, but it's creature types allow it to be reccurred with a nice variety of effects, and it simply doesn't sport that 6-mana tag.

Of course, casually, this lady is just fine. You'll have to power her out a little earlier than turn 6, though- otherwise, you might be sitting on an empty hand, hoping to topdeck a treefolk to have her do something impressive.

Great with Doran, the Siege Tower. Whatever does not kill them will NOT make them stronger.

costs way too much mana
