Uhhh... oil spills could make those rainbow effects in the water. And that would make it appropriately greasy and unclean. And actually, some swamp wildlife is very colorful, but this isn't Earth: The Gathering. Bottom line: I have no idea.

Definitely looks like oil. Note that it could simply be naturally occurring seepage, which often comes up in such areas, rather than actual spill.
