Not exactly Ponder. It's Sage of Epityr's effect + Counterspell. For 1 more than a normal Cancel, it's pretty good.

Chances are you have better ways to both scry and to counter spells, but it's a nice multitasker.

since blue is being nerffed, this looks a whole lot better, but since extended was halved, you can use it in legacy or vintage, where there are better counterspell's.

One of my favorite counters, TBH. I always felt that 4 was a good and fair cost for counters with an effect, and this never fails to please.
