An excellent card - I'll be sure to run four of these in any white deck I play. It's low mana cost means that it's easy to reserve mana for it during your opponent's next turn.

Too defensive, extremely situational, easily countered (and I don't mean just counterspells) and often irrelevant. I don't like it.

Dude, its a 1 mana defence super boost. Whats not to love?
This card basically amounts to a bad Condemn. It's essentially just a removal spell that can only kill an attacking creature, and it requires you to have an untapped creature that can block it as well... which also means your opponent can just counter it by using a removal spell on the create you targeted. This card can have cute interactions that Condemn cannot, like with creatures that have lifelink, and doesn't give your opponent a bit of life, but overall Condemn is just a much more reliable removal spell.

You'd almost always be better off just casting Smite, but this is far more stylish.
'extremely situational'? have you never been in a situation in which your opponent was attacking you with a large creature, you had an untapped small creature, and one mana available? yeah, that'll never happen.
