such a good card. for two mana, you make your opponent discard a card, and prevent X damage, where X is your opponents biggest fucker without trample.

Card advantage generally exists at 2 mana. Early game, they discard, and if you're lucky, he trades with some minor threat. If you're really lucky, he makes them discard Ball Lightning and he trades with Lightning Elemental. Raise Dead is a very useful card when it helps you 2-for-1 every turn.

Not a bad creature. Gets better with equipment. Its already done its job on t2, so trading with another creature in combat is a major bonus.
