Exactly what I was thinking, Einer51.

It works as an almost-Brand every turn. At worst, it's a 4/4 for 4. Not stunning in green, but even if nobody is snatching your permanents, it's still handy.

Great flavor text!

So I'm just double checking to see if i fully understand how this card works.

"At the beginning of each end step, each player gains control of all nontoken permanents he or she owns."

Owns = the cards you bring to the table before the games start.
Controls = the cards on your side of the field.

So at the end of turn, if anyone has control of your land (annex) you reagian control of your land?

Yes, Owns is anything that was originally in your deck (or sideboard in some cases) excluding tokens put into play by a spell or ability of yours under the control of an opponent. Such as Forbidden Orchard, tokens made by you in those ways and put under an opponents control are now also owned by that opponent instead of you.
(Even though the saurian doesn't effect tokens anyways)

But yes, you would re-gain control of stolen non-token permanents you own (treachery'd/Vedalken Shackles'd/memnarch'd or otherwise) at the end of each turn.

This card so obviously combos with Sky Swallower and similar effects that it's not even funny.

Oh ya Sky Swallower really is this guys friend. Not too bad on its own being a 4/4 for 2GG. Can be useful against blue.

I'm thinking combo with Shared Fate. With shared fate, your opponent will be playing cards that you own, and vice versa. As long as you don't play any of their cards after dropping the Shared Fate, your opponent is locked out of their deck and can't keep what they steal from you.

So those little guys are...what? Owl-beast-dog things?

In case you are confused about the art, it's like this. No, those things are not its actual babies. Just like how a broody chicken will "adopt" kittens, so has this broody lizard with random younglings it has come across. Adorable :3

How about Treacherous Pit-Dweller from Avacyn Restored?
