For one colorless mana, Brass Man is a pretty good creature. Yes, you have to pay a mana to untap him, but at least he can attack. Compare him to Wall of Wood, an 0/3 defender that is arguably HARDER to cast (since it requires green mana). Brass Man, like all artifact creatures, is susceptible to lots of destruction, but since its only a 1/3, it probably won't be targeted by a whole lot. Brass Man can fill the one drop hole in virtually any deck that might be lacking such a piece, and he's particularly good in multi-color decks that might not always be playing the same land on the first turn.

For one mana, this guy pretty much beats most 1-drops in combat and can block the majority of 2-drops and survive. The ability to attack for 1 is mostly just a bonus. This is an interesting and useful card that I'd like to see reprinted.

A steel wall is a 0/4, while this is a 1/3... hmm... I usually prefer a bit of power over toughness, but if I'm running walls (or wall like creatures), I usually am using their high toughness for a reason... hmm.... I guess it's an okay card mechanically....
Too bad I'd never play it solely because the art freaks me out. I don't know what I did to make this brass man mad, but I'll make sure never to repeat it.

He beats Elite Vanguard, which is no small task. Plus he'll stop red aggro in its tracks, unless they burn a Bolt on your one drop.
