This is one of those cards that can do a lot of damage if you're opponent isn't ready for it. Also: combos with ninjas.

The drawback really hurts your tempo, but you get a lot of bang for your buck.

I drafted an awesome W/U deck with this and Teferi's Moat. Sweet blue beater.

This is very good for a common. The recurring cost is the only thing that keeps it from being overpowered.
plus, Nobody has the proper defence against shadow creatures unless they exclusively make a deck for them, or have the shadow sliver.

Each Time Spiral card was an homage to at least one previously printed card.
This card is referencing Spindrift Drake in mechanics; the flavor represents the Dal culture from Tempest block; the culture (along with the Ved and the Kor) used the naming conventions of en-Dal for members of the tribe and il-Dal for the traitorous outcasts
Go virtually unblockable blue 2 power for 1 blue mana a turn!

Thalakos sucked so hard they had to make a new Blue shadow tribe.
But it sucks too.

Use it early game with Curiosity to get your control deck moving.

The il in Time Spiral block are not actually evil. They used to be traitors and allied with Volrath but Volrath is long since dead. The flavor text on this guy shows that these il are not the same generation as the ones who originally allied to the Evincar and the flavor text on Trespasser il-Vec explains how they became trapped in shadow. You can see a desire for physicality in both this card and Augur il-Vec.

Theres two decks here. The unstable mutation aggro style, or the curiosity/thieving magpie control. I prefer the magpie... if you can dominate the control aspect, it ends games fast.
