I don't think this is a game winner, but it's frickin' hilarious!

Dug these out of my collection to try in a casual deck with Luminarch Ascension

Underrated card, awesome in UZUZUL limited. Basically reusable removal. And the art fits the name quite well too..

Good against things that trigger on hitting you- Shadowmage Infiltrator, for example. Infect creatures are doubly hurt by this, a reprint would be nice.

Could be a game winner if you keep their beaters shrunk until you draw kill/sacrifice. This means that you're always buying yourself more time to draw into more kill spells.
You could say that *this* could've been a kill spell, but I'd counter that this will get used several times in the right deck, so over-saturation on kill spells may not work.
Further, this works on persist creatures and other annoyances to reduce your damage intake without losing cards.

Great card, it won me the game when I put it on my opponents child of night, then after it died I moved it onto his sentinel sliver. Then I proceeded to win the game with my phyrexian obliterator. 5/5 stars

Nowhere close to an elite-level card, but give it a try in casual play! You might be surprised just how annoying/effective Despondency is. Weakens big creatures and neuters small ones. Get a couple out there and a lot of decks can't deal with that much power lost, particularly since it will be recurring.
