If you line these cards up in Chinese Zodiac order, starting with Snake, you get the following poem/story:

Of all the rabbit creatures in the game, this is the only one actually printed as a rabbit. Kezzerdrix, Vizzerdrix, and Jackalope Herd are all printed as beasts. Unless they really get the urge to complete a mega-cycle of "really questionable rabbit beasts," I don't think that's likely to change.
There are currently four rabbits in Magic. Three of them are beasts (either a Vizzerdrixvariant, or a Jackalope).
This is the only normal rabbit right now. (As far as the reprensentation of a Zodiac Animal can be considered normal)
We need more lagomorphs!
