Why can't this be reprinted??? This is a balanced card, pure and simple...

it's funny seeing older cards with huge blocks of text in them, only to see the oracle translate them into a sentence.

I like how it says "or until game ends"
You mean I don't get to keep the card for good? What a lame ability.

Strictly better than Mind Control.

Interesting note: Early on, artists weren't actually given details on what their commissioned cards actually DID. Or at least, not all that much on what they did. Thus, you can see why Willich painted the picture he did; he was thinking that by "Control Magic", they were intending not a spell that controls others, but a means to control SPELLS, like the sorceror in the art is containing another spell in some fashion.

@Guest57443454: Except that it was displaced by Abduction and the slightly more expensive Persuasion. In aura form, the metric is now a little more expensive. You still have Sower of Temptation, which adds in a 2/2 flyer, but being a creature, she's easier to dispatch...

This is an OK card, I guess. I mean, it's no Treachery.

This is an awesome card, and in case you're wondering its not that balanced. Imagine this, Red, Black, White and Green are able to play some hefty big creatures on Turn 4. You play this on your turn 4. Its basically gaining a huge tempo advantage. You gained a big hasty creature!!! Plus the name of this card is Control Magic this name is misleading because you aren't taking a sorcery or instant card you are actually Controlling a creature. I am certainly glad they reprinted this as Mind Control. I love Blue but sometimes its power level can get out of hand very quickly. 4/5
