It's generally a bad card. There are better alternatives.

Better alternitives are 1. NOT GOLBINS, 2. Something that can I don't know BLOCK 3.Anything with a brain should do.

If you're going to try to insult goblins, try to spell them correctly.

Come on, it's not like you were going to use him to block with anyway.
In that case though, a 2/1 'can't block' for {R} would've made more sense.

Hey, don't tease. He runs a Saprazzan Outrigger.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure this guy was put in because they decided Ironclaw Orcs were... too complicated for a core set?

@Ace8792

I disagree with your point 1. Although... what's a GOLBIN?

Handy if you're dealing with Taunting elves.

Or, you know, you could play a Goblin Instigator.

Its a goblin. If you need to block your probably going to lose anyways. Its much stronger then goblin piker, as it does not die to any form of chump blockers, and 1 goblin king and all of a sudden its got a meaty 3 toughness. Solid card. 4/5

When I was first getting into Magic, the first deck I ever made was a goblin. At first I saw that this card couldn't block, so I put other (crappier) goblins in it like Goblin Piker and Goblin Hero. But eventually I tried him out and was pleasantly surprised.

Goblin Raider taught me two things: drawbacks aren't the end of the world, and two toughness is A LOT more than one.
