In its original design, it also had the ability "As long as you are clean-shaven and well-dressed, Metrognome gets +1/+1 and is unblockable."

They removed that line for some reason.

Why isn't this reprinted? This is good, but not anyway broken.

Also, I find myself very amused by this card's name, art, and concept.

I've suddenly gotten the urge to build a garden gnome deck..

It's a metronome, made out of gnomes...aside from this being hilarious the card itself is pretty terrible..the first ability relies on your opponent to be running a certain type of deck, not to mention there are cards that allow them to choose what you discard (i.e Duress)...then the second ability nets you a 1/1 artifact creature token, which is more susceptible to removal than just a creature token (although it also has more combo potential as well) for {8}?? Granted it's over two turns and can be done at instant speed but I regret to say that this card has not aged well.

This helps me keep the beat on really complex songs...

They're better dressed and more secure about themselves than most gnomes.

Artwork alone deserves 5 stars!

@tavaritz: It's on the reserved list so it will never be reprinted unless they do a FTV: Gnomes (which I wholeheartedly approve of!)
