Although not being strictly worse than good ol' Hypnotic Specter, paying mana is most often less handy then just getting the opportunity to make your opponent discard at random for free. Nontheless still a somewhat playable card and a nice try of redesigning it. (Back then when they thought reprinting him would be impossible when they didn't consider Dark Ritual to be the actual troublemaker which made this card that painful.)

Not quite hypnotic Spector but in the right situation it is. 3/5
