I love the art of this card, but the only way I'd play him is if i had him in a counter deck maybe with avenger of zendikar in a G/W deck

I really did not like the convoke mechanic. This is a good example why. Severely overcosted 3/3 flyer, that is easier to cast if I tap all my potential attackers? White isn't really in the business of tapping all it's weenies. 1/5

This guy was a game winner in limited quite often.

But obviously he's a little underpowered.

May be good with vigilance creatures. Attack, then tap to put out a cheap flyer. You could have him down T3-4 if you picked cards based on vigilance on curve or played heavy into tokens. Timely Reinforcements loves this card I imagine.
