Great conuterspell and it should be reprinted.

If Counterspell isn't going to get reprinted, Mana Leak should. It's much better than Cancel.

This is the only best counter spell next to "Counterspell".

I remember when they released 8th edition and decided to print this card instead of counterspell. My friend was about to stop playing. Everyone hated this card. Now that we only have that ugly cancel, I really miss this card. It should be reprinted.

I like this card because it is very good.

this isnt even close to being the best next to counterspell. without any mana burn anymore mana drain makes counterspell look weak.

REPRINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's good but not literally Counterspell good. So therefor should be "good" enough to be included in standard.

awesome card, second-third best counter ever (counterspell being the number 1 counter)
admitadly a counter with strings is not great, but compared to more recent counters *cough* spell snip *cough* costing your opponent 3 more mana for their spell is pretty good

looking at standard spells, 1UU gets you cancel, hard counter, no strings, 1U gets you negate or essence scatter, both check the spell type, U gets you dispell or spell pierce, dispell is good for anti combat tricks, traps, anti counter magics, and spell pierce costs 1 less then mana leak and has 1 less block cost

Force of Will is the BEST counter ever printed. nuff said.

Who needs Counterspell?

I don't understand Wizards' extreme reluctance to reprint this. I UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ABOUT COUNTERS NOT BEING FUN. But people have been complaining about this for years now. I simply can't believe that the disappointment felt by the casual players who hate this card (by the way: when was the last time you met a _casual_ player who actually cared about what was Standard legal?) would be enough to outweigh the great relief of countless Blue mages who miss their playable, unconditional counters (and this isn't even a 100% hard counter!), or, in my case, the players who don't play control, but sympathize with the fall of monoblue in today's Standard, and think that it could use this little kick.

Please reprint this, Wizards. Let the (Non-)Reign of Cancel end!

yeah because mono-blue control is a lot of "fun".....right..totally..

Fun argument is pretty empty because there are a lot of playing style and effect that is not "funny" to opponent (discard,sacrifice,exile..)

So, fun or not, this is blue's way and power in that game... And Mmno-blue deserves to be played just like other mono decks.

Can become dead but adding mana to every spell is usually enough to counter anything..
