@ HairlessThoctar: Because it only looks like a spider. It's not actually the spirit of a dead spider, as kami are a kind of creature all to themselves.

@Tiggurix While it's true, that the kami are creatures themselves, you might know that 'Kami' translates to God, in Japanese, and 'Kumo,' translates to Spider.
That being said, I still think it should only be a spirit.
