A interesting use of flavor, the more Rats there are, the stronger they get, excellent flavor, however they're too narrow and costly to see any play...

Narrow? Costly? Bah! Why, good sir- twenty of these and twenty Black Lotuses, and you've got yourself a deck! Now that's how you play Magic! What's that? There's a 4-of rule now? That's absurd. Mark Rosewater and I will be over here, talking about the good old days. Before those R&D people changed everything. People like....Mark Rosewater....curses!

Yeah, this is one of the first cards that suffered through rules changes, yet unfortunately never got an accordant errata in the Oracle text to restore its use.
On the other hand, we got a nice remake of this oldschool version, being the infamous Relentless Rats.

Back in the glory days when Rats didn't need to be Relentless to get noticed.

Remy from Ratatouille isn't looking so good since he got chased out of that nice restaurant.
