The best ninja art ever. Shame on wizards to have printed so little ninjas and so much bad spirits in BOK. sigh.

why did it have to be TARGET ninja, though? why not just; {1}{U}: Return a Ninja you control to its owner's hand.

I agree with Altjira, wizards should have really made more ninja cards. Theres 37 different samurai, so why are there not more ninjas?

If the ability didn't have the "your turn" restriction, it would be bonkers. As it stands, very little utility. A peep at your opponent's hand ain't wort Ninjutsu-level hassle when Telepathy is around.

They really should have called the ability sneak attack or something. Now it's unlikely to see print again since it's so heavily tied to the Japanese flavour of the Kamigawa block. They'd have to bend over backwards to accomodate them in most settings. Bad Wizards! Think ahead next time.

I read an article that mentioned how to use her second ability in a clever way. In the case that you have more attackers than your opponent has defenders, once your opponent has declared blockers, it's not unlikely that he/she has blocked your Ninja. Return those blocked Ninja to your hand, then Ninjutsu them in using the attackers your opponent chose not to block. This ability is also useful if your opponent chooses to cast his Instant-Speed removal on your Ninja after the Declare Attackers Phase, but before the Declare Blockers Phase (because during that phase the unblocked ninjas could be ninjutsu'd out to give the spell an illegal target before resolving). Back when combat damage went on the stack you could probably abuse the ability to that end also.
Rant: Ninjas were a small cycle. Only Blue and Black got them, and they were limited to two commons, one uncommon and one Rare of each color. Walker of the Secret Ways was the Blue uncommon Ninja, and though useful in certain situations thanks to her activated ability, her Combat Damage ability is very lackluster. In my opinion, considering how good Throat Slitter is as the Black uncommon Ninja, this card should have been something like "When Walker of the Secret Ways deals combat damage to a player, that player puts the top 5 cards of his or her library into his or her graveyard." That would have been totally badass, and had great synergy with Skullsnatcher and especially Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni. Mill is definitely blue, so it makes me kind of sad to have this chick as the only Ninja I simply cannot put in my Ninja deck.

Once this Mirrodin rerun block is over, how about we continue on with history and do a sequel to Kamigawa as well? :D

@DysprosiumJudas Yeah great idea! Scars of Kamigawa. The Kami have become infused with Phyrexian Oil, and are being lead by none other than Ghost Urza! Ooooooooh scary.

TNC: I'm going to use this card.
LO: But you don't have any ninja in your deck.
TNC: But it's pretty.
LO: But you don't have any blue in your deck.
TNC: Lo, it's PRETTY.
LO: You have a creatureless discard deck!
TNC: Look, if you try to interject logic into this conversation one more time I'll equip her with Pennon Blade.

To all of you who are demanding a re-Kamigawa block, it won't happen. After The Kami War, Bolas came in and totally destroyed all that was Kamigawa. I don't exactly know WHY, but he did.
That said, I'd that.

Some of you information seems to be off. It's about 25,000 years after the Kamigawa Kami War, which occurred long before Tetsuo Umezawa defeated Bolas on Madara. When Bolas escaped Tetsuo's prison, he swore vengeance on all the Umezawa clan and anyone instrumental in their victory. If we read the novels depicting the Kami War, Toshiro Umezawa was brought to Madara by the Myojin of Night's Reach. Bolas sought out Night's Reach -- defeating her, turning her followers against her, and destroying her realm, which -- it should be noted -- is not Kamigawa, or at least not in its entirety. We see that Kamigawa is still extant in Agents of Artifice, where Jace defeats Tezzeret -- long after Bolas's conflict with Night's Reach.
There you have it - hope yet for a revisit.

"Walker of the Street" makes you think you have a chance with her. And you do, right up until the point where she removes your head from your neck. I wonder how many guys never saw it coming because they were looking at the tattoo on the small of her back, right where the dimples are.... Yeah, like you didn’t notice.

Our chief weapon is Ninjitsu...Ninjitsu and probes...probes and ninjitsu.... Our two weapons are ninjitsu and probes...and mana cost efficiency.... Our *three* weapons are ninjitsu, probes, and mana cost efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Oni.... Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as ninjitsu, probes.... I'll come in again.

Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: ninjitsu, probes, mana cost efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Oni, and whispersilk uniforms - Oh damn! I can't say it - you'll have to say it. Ink-Eyes: What? Walker: You'll have to say the bit about 'Our chief weapons are ...' Ink-Eyes (rather horrified): I couldn't do that...

Opponent: oh dear god, enough with this bull****. I forfeit.

Important distinction: "during your turn", not "any time you could play a sorcery". If you attack with two ninjas into one blocker and you REALLY want a specific one to get through, you can bounce it and ninjutsu it in place of the unblocked one if it gets blocked.
