I enjoy the art for this card.

Since most six drops in Kamigawa are around 1/2s this guy is actually a really good card for limited.

wouldnt take them for my 6cmc slot

I love this card, mostly from a flavor perspective. They way those villagers reach to them in vain for assistance but the samurai resolutely ignore them. They've sworn an oath to a lord, not to the poor country bumpkins the lord controls.

It goes a long way to showing how easily can become a villain in a setting. If nothing else, Kamigawa was cool for depicting a hero and his attempts to bring down a villain.

A maybe 6/6 for 6 mana in white is just about fair. Or would be at common.
Not sure about this guy.

Needs vigilance, and even then use sun titan instead.

Vigilance would've definitely made this card sweet, but this thing still beats most creatures in your average deck in direct combat. Equip it with Oathkeeper and you've got a decent threat.
