Only Merfolk in the game until, umm, Fallen Empires I think. Yea, I might have missed one in The Dark or Legends, but this was the only Merfolk for a good span of the early part of Magic's history, at the very least through Arabian Nights and Antiquities.

If you dont count Lord of Atlantis that is. He didnt become an actually merfolk until much later. He did however, make these guys really strong.
