I have to wonder why this was necessary, seeing as how we already have Kragma Butcher.

Just how I like my fearsome minotaurs. Lost in thought....

This is like the mythical version of Rodin's The Thinker.

Man, you guys are so mean to him! I absolutely love the flavor. He's pondering his brutal, savage, hedonistic existance. I wonder what simplistic yet philosophical thoughts are drifting through his mind...

What is the meaning of life? What is the meaning of this leg?

This poor bastard, he's just realised how utterly purposless him life is.

Seriously, why did they have to print this after printing Kragma Butcher in the last set. As a 3/3 it might have been useful, because although kragma is a 4/3, you have to wait a turn, whereas as a 3/3 you'd get instant results out of this guy.

2/3 vanilla sucks though, why not reprint Hurloon Minotaur

I wonder if this is the natural evolution of minotaurs, where they begin to realize their savagtry is inhibiting them from doing better things. Perhaps if we ever have a "return to theros" minotaurs will have a small basic civilization.

Just an thought.

Yeah, am minotaur. But some days, why am minotaur? Is there more than minotaur?

Ah yes, the "Minotaur Philosopher". A cute card, at the very least.

Taking the idea of "What if... NOT smash?" one step further...

This minotaur is the sole survivor of the battle that took place here. Without a leader, he has no new orders, and so no reason to leave the battleground. As he has no companions left, he is probably experiencing feelings of regret. Perhaps not so extreme as mourning, but some degree of sorrow and loneliness.

And if he's been left here to himself long enough, the idea may finally occur to him that those creatures they fight might feel the same way he's feeling now.

Where will his thoughts go next? We may need to wait for a return to Theros to learn the answer to that...

i appreciate that the block that sees a common minotaur that would finally be considered 'strictly better' than old hurloon also introduces the devotion mechanic to refute that claim (also worth noting the hurloon's flavor marks the beast as sort of...pensive?)
