I love this. It's a fantastic card in monoblack standard atm (Born of the Gods). Having another is always nice. Card draw and Devotion? Yes, please.

an activated Phyrexian Arena for 1 mana is good enough for me.

This is a great card for so many reasons.

Unlike the (in?)famous Phyrexian Arena, this actually gives you a choice of whether or not you want to pay the 1 life to draw a card. And although the Arena is probably better in general, the option to not pay life will be very appealing to many players, particularly newer players who are often skittish about losing life to their own cards.

I, like many others, will be happy to see the price of this card drop from $2.75 apiece. Eleven dollars for a playset of a great card might not sound like much, but a lot of us casuals need that money for rent and noodles.

This is an excellent addition to Vraska's deck, particularly because Jace has so few good answers to field enchantments. I expect this will go a long way to helping the Vraska players keep up with the Jaces in terms of card advantage.

A devotion boost and a card engine in one.

Not as good as Phyrexian Arena, but since the arena is pushing the boundaries for how good a card should be, this is quite good. 1 and 1 life for one card a turn. Not bad.

if you have a way to untap your land it becomes quite a bit better. Garruk Wildspeaker the next turn? One of the myriad broken old blue cards that do this?
