Well... You either got a gate or a gate with a massive tower in the background. A tower that looks like it's entirely covered in lightning.

I personally liked the swirling lava and water in the original izzet guildgate.

Guildgates are nice on turn one if I'm not holding Nivmagus in my hand, because I have nothing else worth casting turn one and it instantly decides that I am not getting color-screwed. This art, too, is much nicer and brighter than the old one.

Ferlord, I think it's Nivix. And yes, it's covered in lightning and mana.
I personally love the Gates, if only because I hate spending life. Worst-case scenario (at least the way I play) is if you've only got a couple of these out and you're mana-screwed, then you draw a bounceland. My Izzet deck's been doing fine so far maxed out with 4 of these.

I personally love the Gates, if only because I hate spending life. Worst-case scenario (at least the way I play) is if you've only got a couple of these out and you're mana-screwed, then you draw a bounceland. My Izzet deck's been doing fine so far maxed out with 4 of these.
