Wow, that's expensive. At least it exiles, but would it have been too much for this to be an instant?

Versatility is great. Mana cost is really, really bad. If it had cost one less or been an instant it would have been much better.

I agree, at this CMC I think an instant in warranted. Considering already has Path to Exile, O-Ring, Ray of Revelation, I really don't think a 5-cost sorcery will gain much traction ( even though O-Ring can be removed and Ray only destroys. )

Big pick for white in limited. Not bad.

2/5. This has some potential in limited. At sorcery speed though it's overcosted at 5 mana. Still good just not great.

Colour-light singular removal.
Playable in Limited, not anywhere else.

You'll want this in Limited if you play White; everywhere else it's garbage. Even in Limited, waiting to get to 5-mana to take out a creature will be tough, especially since you'll most likely be skipping an integral turn for casting your own bombs.

As a flavour enthusiast, I was remiss when I put this into my deck at the prerelease and didn't bother to read the italicized text. Three or four rounds in, I was talking about it with somebody and they said "Yeah, it's cool - I sent my opponent's guy to jail too." I had no idea what he was talking about at first, but once he directed me to the flavour text I had a newfound appreciation for the card.
From now on, this card will always be "Sky Jail" to me. =)

The effect is powerful, but sorcery speed and five mana...

Gross - a functional reprint of an unexciting card instead of an adjustment thereof to give it a nudge forward? (e.g., a cost of or Instant speed) Inertiatic design, pretty lame.

Because a functional reprint of Iona's Judgement is what everyone was asking for this Christmas.

This card is quite dumb. In every sense.

Perfectly decent limited card. The people who complain about this being a functional reprint of Iona's Judgement are probably the same ones who complain about power creep.

Pure flavor. An extreme card, just like Boros. Exiling, both in flavor and in game, is often unnecessary, seeing as Path to Exile, Oblivion Ring, and Iona's Judgement all exist. It's the same as the last card, and outclassed by the first two. It costs so much more mana than is needed or worthy. And that the Azorius couldn't muss up their affairs? They do a much better job at what this is trying to do; the Boros are ruled by the ideals of the Angels, rather than the logic of the Sphinxes.

Iona's Judgment was pretty meh, but that card was unlucky enough to be part of the fastest limited format ever. Gatecrash doesn't seem nearly as aggressive (although Boros and Gruul can certainly blow you right out of the water if you're not careful), and because of that this functional reprint might be an acceptable one-of removal spell in your five mana slot. If I'm in white, I don't mind having one.
Surprisingly a bit of an ace in Limited, though both times I played Orzhov and with 18 lands. This suits them better than Boros thanks to their slower, stalling gameplay, and late in the game its another spell you can extort to swing on life as well as take out a threat.

Hmmm... I guess it makes sense that the Boros Legion would practice extraordinary rendition.

Constructed? No thanks.
