Because Basilica Screecher trades with practically nothing in GTC Limited or Standard. This is more than decent, and in a multicolor heavy environment, this really isn't hard to cast. Extort aside, this is being played in a control deck and therefore is there to add in some damage every turn. This card really is quite good. It deals double the damage the Screecher in question does. Both are good, but this is better.
