You guys don't get it. Both Pictures mentioned were intended to look exactly as they do. Chippy could have painted Skithiryx then and could still paint this style now.

Since no one has commented on the card itself, Painter's Servant makes this a potentially potent creature, especially since it flies. Turning things green also allows you to Deathgrip too, so that's a nice perk as well.
