Actually, given the constant reprinting of Hill Giants in various flavors, I'm not sure if they'll let us do better!
This critter, or a functional equivalent, should be reprinted. It's not great, but it is RED and it's not boring like a Hill Giant.

This is a bit better than it looks. Haste rarely matters on a mid to late game creature like this, but when it does matter it can win via surprise... and really, it's still slightly ahead of the curve to get an ability on a 3/3 for 4 in red, which is kind of sad.
