Not bad. Just barely skirted standard.

OK declare a block and then use the ability to exile another attacker with the potential reward of feather counters on my Soulcatchers' Aerie. Not bad at all.

{1}{W}{W} for a 2/2 flyer with a somewhat-useful ability? I'll put a couple in my bird deck.

I'm bothered by the flavor text. Ambition is a black trait...

Ambition isn't necessarily a black trait. It's also blue, white, red, and green in its own way.

The downside is since he is gonna be on the battlefield there isn't gonna much of a suprise when he sacs.
So his main ability, and the whole reason why you are spending that 5 Mana could go to waste with a Doom Blade.
I'd stick with some instant speed white removal.

Kirtar is a very cool legend. Avens always appealed to me as a magic player, and this guy bubbles with flavor. Nowadays, they print garbage like Linvala. Yeah, she's amazing. But do we care what she does, who she works for, what she fights for? Not a friggin chance.

All hail Kirtar! The most consistent way in game to handle a hard cast Emrakul -- and for only a 1w activation no less.

Or for that matter, Reveillark.

In the first two Oddessy Novels, this guy seemed Blacker than the night, despite being in the Order.

Some players who use this card seem to overlook the fact that his ability doesn't require tapping. I think this is a pretty versatile, useful card, especially in EDH.
