I guess if your opponent has something big enough to kill him you can kill on upkeep without a drawback?
still, crap.

It's not great considering that nowadays you get Pelakka Wurm for that mana cost, but this is about as close as green comes to creature destruction, let alone repeatable creature destruction. Run it with Dense Foliage to make sure it doesn't get removed after you sac a forest, and you'll be the only one in the game with removal. The ability to kill just about any creature on tapping will compensate for the card disadvantage of losing your lands, and after you get rid of their blockers, you can just kill them with a couple of attacks. You'll be able to clear their board even quicker if you have a Seeker of Skybreak. I might try this out.

You could also run Stampeding Wildebeests and keep bouncing Harvest Wurm, both of which are efficient creatures.

His ability can be used in response to the upkeep trigger. Pretty bad but at least you can bring down their titan when you take your 7 damage :s

His abilities have some nice synergy, in my opinion. It can kill large creatures with power 6 or less easily, and once most of those are gone, it can attack. Chump blocking won't help, since it got trample too, in the right deck.

Probably best with cards such as seedborn muse. Then it can kill a creature in each players turn.

Huh, surprisingly decent, for its day. Yeah, the drawback is lame and you'd rather it just have trample, but the Fight ability is pretty nice.

Theory: he gains trample from snow forests because he uses four trees as skis and poles to slide over the snow towards the opponent.

Makes perfect sense.
