Or worse shock since it's a sorcery.

I really loved the whole feel of Odyssey block. It's overall flavor and the way that each color wasn't coerced to interact. Lava Dart and Firebolt will always hold a special place in my heart.

I used to love this card back when i started. I agree with orim that Odyssey had the best flavor and that is why its my favorite block too. I remember having around 2-3 of this in any of my decks that ran red (i just started so i commonly had just one of each card I owned except for grizzly bears and basic lands).

@Ameisenmeister :

It was the tagline for Bell Phones. "Reach out and touch someone".

Can anyone explain the flavor text to me? I'm german and I don't understand the text. And on the german version it's another flavor text...

@da-odd-templar
Haha thank you for explanation. This is really nice. :-D

If only it was an instant :(

Might not be a card you want anymore in a burn deck as a playset, but consider how good this is in an environment with fetch lands, when 2dmg might as well have meant 3, and played as a singleton.

This might seem odd, but this is another reason I really like legacy over modern. Geistflame is alright and we can bicker about sorcery vs. instant all day; but let me say that if you mix sorcery and instant then you get the benefits of both more damage and instant speed. Case in point, mix this with Lava Dart if anything. It nails creatures you don't want to waste bolts on, and it does it repeatedly.

Another difference is that it's 4 damage in 1 card, which is always good. Geistflame is 2 damage in one card, as with lava dart; which to me implies a sideboard card. This can be main'd in a sligh deck because it can hit 2 blockers over the course of it's life, both with relevant toughnesses. You're supposed to be the aggro player anyway in most match ups.
