Bouncing a permanent: Rejecting opponent's reality.
Cascade: Substituting own reality.

I don't know why this is so low rated. Boomerang is a decent primary ability. You get a free 3 or 4 drop out of this, especially if you build your deck properly. Bounce one of your opponent's lands setting them a turn back and then play your nice 4 drop. I don't see the problem. It's still just card advantage.
