Nice spider for the cost. Ran this in my spider deck before sentinel spider came out in M13. Loved this guy helped me win many a games.

I don't know the statistics of it, but there actually are A LOT of real world spiders that are predatory, mobile hunters, and not simply trappers. Wolf spiders and jumping spiders are some examples of them. Also, all spiders are "plated", since they are arthropods with exoskeletons. Their "plates" ARE their skeletons, essentially.
