a classic. While fireball is more versatile and generally considered better, it does cost an extra to get 5. That is the ONLY thing that would make this not strictly inferior to it.

A lava axe for you, a lava axe for me, a lava axe is thrown, right into that tree. There it will burn, there it will spark, there it will cinder, and burn all the bark. The tree it will fall, the tree it will smoke, the Elves won't be happy, when they start to choke. Yet more than the trees, and more than the Elves, the player will whimper, at this damage spell.
