A hybrid card that is costed perfectly. Only playable in newbie decks for the most part but whatever.

I wouldn't say perfectly costed. Wind Drake is a touch too expensive for being a 2/2 flier with nothing else, and with this you have, ironically, an even more limiting mana cost.
It's still fair, I suppose, but I'd prefer a little something more. Chapel Geist spoiled me I suppose.

Doesn't Sunspire Griffin put this to shame? In the same set, in the same slot? Is spirit tribal really worth 1 less toughness?

Even such mediocre cards as this look awesome for having all the cool Ravnica buildings in their background.

Pros like me think that this is perfectly costed for a flier of this body and creature type.

"Doesn't Sunspire Griffin put this to shame? In the same set, in the same slot? is easier to cast than , so they made this one a 2/2 only. At least i think that's probably exactly what Wizards wanted to show us with those two cards.
Although i agree that this wasn't necessarily the best way to show that, because getting a Wind Drake for that cost is still a bit underwhelming, especially in a set that has cards that makes comparable classics pale next to them, like Tavern Swindler.

i actually REALLY like this card, as underwhelming as it may seem. I found during pre-release that red/blue/white was a GREAT color combo. the mana base i had let me cast this guy every time without an issue, and do at least 2 damage every turn....

@Majinkajisan: I thought the same too, until I put a Civic Saber in this thing's hands and it turned into a clock. Still, a minor ETB ability or something to make it stand out more from the other 2/x flyers in Azorius colors at 3 CMC would've been nice. Maybe vigilance--it's flavorful and at 2 toughness it's not going to massively upset the balance or anything.

Evasion's always good. I have lost more than one Limited game to these flying sock puppets.

The art sort of reminds me of noh-face from Spirited Away.

Remember too, these things are good in draft if you're looking for a flyer in an Izzet or Selesnya deck. Not great, but options are always welcome.
Makes me wonder just how mad Shadowmoor and Eventide drafts must've been....
