I don't really understand why they put cards like this in the decks.. They could've reprinted something that actually deserved it.

Guys, I'm not sure, but I'm getting the feeling that Greg doesn't appreciate every card in the commander set.
Run in a clash deck where you can set up your draws. You can get your Searing Blaze without landfall. Or, if it comes down to it, you can just burn a creature for 3. That's not all that terrible, just not the best possible outcome.

I think it's weird that this is rated more than 2 stars lower than the original print. People must not have liked seeing this in the deck, and I can't say I disagree with the sentiment. Direct damage this weak really sucks in EDH.
But.
I thought standard procedure for rating cards was to attempt to rate how good they are in general and not just for a particular format. How misleading is it going to be to a new player to see this rating and be led to conclude that it's a bad card? I think this can be a pretty decent card for casual or modern burn. It isn't fantastic, but it deserves a four or at least a three in my book.

Cosign Gelzo. This is a good card. 4/5 in normal play. 2/5 in Commander. What WERE they thinking???

This is not a bad card, has the potential to double bolt while being a 3 toughness sniper.

Clash does make sense in EDH. It has a subtle draw-smoothing effect, and it gets better in multiplayer. Since you clash with "an opponent", not "that creature's controller", you can give away a minor boon to someone whose help you need. You can even choose the opponent with the lowest average mana cost, or one who for whatever reason is known to have a land coming.

I hate that when I searched for burn spells and ordered them by player rating, I almost didn't notice this card. Stop rating it badly. It's not bad. It's just not good in EDH.
