Should've been called Vow of Chastity, because they don't have to tap...
Anyway, this is the weakest of the vows IMO, as it doesn't grant evasion or trample, removing most of the incentive to attack- and if they do attack, they still will be able to defend against your attackers. Not to mention that white has tons of cheap spot removal already.

This one is so much drastically worse than the others that it should NOT have been printed as is. This is just terrible, even without comparing it to your other options in white. THe others ALL make sense- you buff their guy, he attacks your friends instead, they get hurt, the creature cant ever attack you so if they want to attack with it it now cannot block your guys. Elegant card design. This is just awkward, as they can still always block your attackers with their guy when you were trying to play this card as 'REMOVAL' for their guy... ughhh wizards dont make cards into cycles if some are gonna be just bad.. :/ imo blue and green are awesome, red and black are fine, i just think it shoudl've been a 4 color cycle.

Could have been like spirit link instead of having vigilance, which would have balanced it pretty well I think. Still the best use for it is on your own guys, which is pretty bland compared to the others.

I see this as more of a political card than a win card. If one of your opponents has poor defense, offer to Vow of Duty one of their creatures for an extra trade off (this way they can attack and still be able to block; not to mention the +2/+2 boost). If they accept, you're ahead for two reasons:
1) This Vow'd creature cannot attack you or your Planeswalkers.
2) Whatever else you just agreed to. (say they agreed to rid the board of a certain artifact for you).
Granted, every card can be played politicaly - I get that - but this card in particular offers a lot to players in need. I'm sure you can get some pretty good deals out of this one.

Artist was going for an effect like that in the art of the various umbras, but ended up making this look like a fat-suit.

Pity the color that fits the flavour best gets the worst card in the cycle. Like it's already been said the vigilance does nothing but ensure your opponent will have a blocker- not handy when you want them to destroy each other.
I understand that this cycle is supposed to be used on your opponent's creatures (to lock them down), but why not use them on your own critters? A +2/+2 boost (or +3/+3, in the case of Wildness) and a colour-special keyword for 3 mana isn't all that terrible...and it completely nullifies the 'drawback' of not attacking you.

Weakest of the vows, as making sure they can still block you isn't that great... BUT you don't HAVE to play it on their creature, you can just give yourself vigilance, and if they try to steal it, it will only be a blocker for them i guess... not the greatest for giving to opponents, but hey not horrible on mine, and still will do on theirs in a situational pinch where you just don't wanna get hit. I forget, why i was defending this card again? vow of trample everyone but you is clearly the winner here.

I wouldn't call this the worst vow tbh, you need to think differently with this one!
"they can still always block your attackers with their guy when you were trying to play this card as 'REMOVAL' for their guy... "
AND they can block everyone else whose coming their way, why do you guys see this as a bad thing? now they have a big guy they can hit your opponents every single turn, thus dealing more damage to them!

I just realized the good part about playing this on your OWN creatures lol.. Wow, I confess, I thought initially this was designed to play on your opp's guy's.. I can't believe that went so far over my head.. Decent antitoxin for control. Still.. Doesn't keep you from losing it or having it block and kill your guys..

I see this card as being best in multiplayer. "Here, attack that guy with your Blightsteel Colossus, not me!
