Vector asp and this card remind me of Metallic sliver and Vencer's Sliver respectively, Cards that aren't that great on thier own but can act as decent filler in the right decks if there is a gap that needs to be filled. Personally, i think that will only happen in draft, but the phyrexian mana allows this to potentially work better than vector asp as that card really slowed you down if you wanted the infect.

The drones weren't thankful for this one.

Scourge servant that's playable in any color with a bit of life investment, in a set where infect is the main killer. Not bad, less power creepy than most of the set.

We thank the souleaters for not all having awesome flavour text, so we may criticise the ones that don't.

Could be really great with a Tempered Steel down. At that point it's 5/5 for 5. coupled with the 2 drop infect critters, maybe Core Prowler for Proliferate, some Tumble Magnets and Contagion Clasps for lock and you might actually have something here.

In limited, it's fairly nice, especially when you don't have a dedicated infect deck, or one that needs another creature.
He's definitely not a first-pick, but when you need that extra creature slot, it's definitely not the worst option out there.

It's toggling allows it to be used in a non-infect deck, switching to infect when blocked or blocking to hurt a critter without requiring a total investment too infect from the rest of your forces. Not great, but the flexibility is nice.
