Three mana for a 2/3 with reach: mabye. Six mana for a 3/4 with reach: absolutely never.

I think SavageBrain summed it up here quite nicely. I'll just play penumbra spider instead, thankyouverymuch.

Well, this is a pretty efficient spider. But people seem to overlook the fact that green tends to want for late-game mana sinks that aren't Ant Queen, so this could rather pathetically fill that need.

Good card, good art, terrible kicker.

You guys evaluate kicker incorrectly, this guy is a pretty decently high pick just because he is an efficient creature with further options.

Deserves a higher rating than 2.58, surely? The addition of a kicker option makes this better, not worse.

Other similar options at common:
Ember Weaver is better if you're playing {R}{G}...also first strike is amazing for a creature used for blocking. Woolly Spider is basically a 2/5 when blocking, which is probably what you'd be using a card like this for anyways.
Of course, neither card is strictly better than this, though a 3/4 for {5}{G} is pretty bad, even though the kicker is should make the card better.
