5 stars in 8-player Commander. It's a lightning rod, but if you can survive the barrage of hatred, you'll gain 24 life for each of your turns. In casual games it's also quite good, as a 7/7 creature that gives you 6 life for each turn.

History tells us that Lightning Bolt is better than Healing Salve, so therefore this should be worse than Magmatic Force.

I'd still play this.

It is a moose nebula? What is it with good cards being given crazy moose art?

I believe it's an Irish Elk (Megaloceros giganteus), makes moose look like pansies.

Also, I'd say it's on par with Magmatic Force simply because white has an easier time protecting it, and thus will squeeze more turns out of its effect.

seriously why this in the ghave deck and not a verdant force, i mean sure it works with the storm herd, and who doesn't like life, but really stick with the flavor wizards

What is this DOING in this deck? A huge fatty with no evasion that gives life gain? I like my EDH cards to stick with the theme tyvm

@Kazuhiro What's this doing in the Counterpunch deck? The deck that has two other generals for it that revolve around graveyard recursion? It's not like you can base a deck around that. It not like black has graveyard recursion, nor white and most certainly it's not like green has cards that can grab things from your graveyard and put them back in your hand or on top of your library. Please, who has ever heard of a big creature with no evasion in a deck that can bring it back? Not I.

If you didn't get what I was saying, there's two themes in Counterpunch. You choose which one you wanted to go with.

Big old multiplayer badass. Excellent if reanimated, like all big white creatures tend to be (ironically angels and archons are usually the ebst cards to zombify).

I wonder why it isn't an archon though. Kinda feels like it should be an archon.

Beautiful art, and fun flavor text. A little expensive for what it does, though.

I'll be honest, Vish Kal intrigues me somewhat. Flavor texts with these just make him seem like he has more character than, say, Sorin.

... OH, it's a giant elk thingy.

Yeah, it's sad, but I've literally only just realised that.

By far the worst force. Compare this to Magmatic Force -- are we treating Lightning Bolt as balanced evenly with Healing Salve again, just because they both have the number '3' in them somewhere?

Seriously, this is the exact same mistake -- badly-balanced cards shoehorned into slots to fill out a cycle. It's not completely terrible, sure (in limited it's still a giant fatty, and 3 life a turn can be useful), but it's a bit silly to put this next to Magmatic Force -- I guess we should just be glad the blue one doesn't draw you three cards!
