If by vanilla you mean savage in limited (and possibly type II, considering these guys' creature type).

I'd rather cast a Sangromancer, but not bad.

These kids can be brutal. Black is okay at creatures, but a 4/4 for 4 with lifelink is tough to race against. Especially when black can push these through with creature kill. I don't know if these are first pick worthy, or if they'll see constructed play (I hazard that they won't), but I'll always be happy to play them in limited.

why were these kids cast out? did they not write enough dark poetry about how hard it is to be undead on their livejournals?

This card is a bomb in limited. Constructed? Not so much.

I really like the guys. Vicious in a fast deck. Go ahead with the bad poetry, kiddos, as long as I get more life each time you attack.

This is laughable when compared to, say, a vampire nighthawk. As long as bloodlord of vaasgoth is around to save the day, i suppose all is forgiveable.

Look like they could have been Zombie Vampires.

4/4 lifelink for 4? sigin me in. 5/5 easily because if the opponent has obliterator and it attacks you, you take 5 damage but then attack with these guys and gain 4 life, rendering the oblitarator a 1/1

They were "cast out" by the Zendikar vampires because of how much they suck by comparison.

I personally Love this card. Very powerful with Bloodlord of Vaasgoth; 7/7 vampire w/ lifelink, ftw :D

They are not "kids" I actually looked up the art, and not only are they not children, they are also very scary looking. You guys shouldn't make fun of them.

Being the weirdo I am, I like to associate the numbers with the card images... there are two ways I've imagined this particular one: Male vampire is roaming around looking for a meal, once he sees it (bloodthirst trigger) he decides to bring his loving wife with him (the additional +2). Another thing may be they're roaming the swamps and feel rather malnourished, (both vampires, represented by one power and toughness each prior to the bloodthirst trigger) yet when they see the next meal they both become twice as feral and violent as they were.

I haven't actually played this card yet, but I imagine I will soon. The card seems really good for it's cost, and the art is amazing, I'm using it for my desktop wallpaper right now.

How is this only 3.5? Bloodthirst is pretty easy to activate, and a 4/4 lifelink for 4 is just great - and that's without considering Vampire Lords, of which 2 are currently standard.

4/5 - a worthy addition to mid range vampire decks (though it's understandable if it can't find a spot, there are a lot of groovy vampires these days!).

A nice cheap 4/4 lifelink? Sounds good.

At first it doesn't look too impressive, but if this comes out as anything less than a 4/4, you're probably doing it wrong.

Inquisitors Flail and Gruesome Deformity + Any other buffing vampires in deck = Lifelink from hell.
