The most egregious of the Alpha misprints, this card is broken at 2 CMC...it remains an excellent card at 4 CMC...

This may very well be the only card in magic history with errata-ed mana cost.

Not quite, Sooku, you're missing one card - Cyclopean Tomb, which was printed without mana cost at all.

Oh, and let me respell your comment more accurately, Guest:
"The most gorgeous of the Alpha misprints, this card was great at a 2 CMC...it remains a rather useless card at 4 CMC..."
Even back then this wouldn't have been broken alongside with Crusade or Bad Moon i guess, and these days you still get cards like Honor of the Pure. It would be a powerful card, but not a broken one.

Actually your both wrong. Armored Pegasus, Samite Healer, Mogg Raider, and Warrior's Honor from Anthologies and the Squall from Starter were printed with the wrong cost. In addition to Oriflamme and Tomb, another Alpha card, Orcish Artillery was printed with the wrong cost. And there are even more misprints when you get into foreign language cards!

Problem is, for the same cmc you can get Glory of Warfare.

They really should not have increased its mana cost.

@ Axelle:
Actually, they didn't really increase the mana cost; the card was supposed to cost four, but like several other cards from Alpha, the final product was misprinted. Here's the address to an article on the subject:

I don't think I'd mind seeing a functional reprint of this misprint, but it would be a lot more fun if it stayed uncommon. I just know they would make it rare.

With the Power Nine around at the time, why the hell did they think this needed to get more expensive.

Sometimes I have no idea what Wizards of the Coast are thinking....

4/5 for the cost it should have kept!!

Man, this would be very strong at 1Red. At 3Red its mediocre.

The orcs always fought harder when their leader busted out his skull-on-a-stick. They knew it meant that there would be a pizza party at Round Table after the battle.

A classic Goblin-booster, despite the Orcish name.

As others have said, even if it was a misprint, two CMC was actually a decent cost for this -- even at the time, it made it comparable to Bad Moon and Crusade (which helped your opponent's creatures, too, if they were playing the same color as you, and didn't work on your creatures of other colors; but increased toughness and worked when not attacking, both of which are more likely to matter.)
