I'd say it was a good teaching card for new players but by the time the card advantage makes an impact enough time may have already passed that they don't make the connection between casting this and losing. Plus it's lifegain so that's another strike against it.

I have to admit, when I first started Magic, I bought the Starter set, and I have actually played this card. Why do new players so highly value life gain? Alas, I can't ask my past self.
I might think of using this if I make a Phil Foglio theme deck and only if it would be highlander style.

It's cheaper than Angel's Mercy. A real pain with Sanguine Bond. Why is everyone so P.O.d that this card has an opponent draw a freaking card. It won't do much damage. 4/5

You could make a deck where this is playable. A W/B with a life gain wincon and a decent amount of discard. But, yeah, mostly garbage.

Its called Bargain because thats what your opponent shouts when you play this card. 'Bargain'

This would have been a cool card for lifegain decks at W. At WCC it's completely worthless.

If you have Consecrated Sphinx, this is a Divination with 7 lifegain! It's a steal!

What it doesn't say is that you're the goblin in this bargain.
I would rather draw a card than gain 7 life. That is why think twice sees play and Heroes Reunion does not.

Maybe if it cost {0} it would be playable? Probably not. This should be rated lower. Heck, even if it gave you mana I'm not sure anyone would use it-even storm, because it lets your opponent draw into counterspells and if you're going off what's a life total. That certainly gives you a case for calling this the worst card ever-and its rated over 1.5 stars. C'mon, people.

For a real bargain, look at Yawgmoth's.
