This card is very popular and it works amazingly with any infinite mana combo that can produce black. Just the fact that is one extra mana than most XR spells yet it gains you most of the damage you dealt is amazing.

IMHO Consume Spirit is wrong. Why would you get 20 life for doing 20 damage to a 0/1 creature.

this, fluctuator and songs of the damned, fill ure deck up with nothing but cards and lands that cycle a few of the mox, and if ure lucky you can pull off a turn one win with these, my friend had a deck like this wich i thought was amazing wen i was very new to the game XD

@tavaritz You would gain 20 life because you did actually deal 20 damage to that creature, but you only need one to kill it. A creatures toughness doesn't affect how much or how little damage can be dealt to it.
